Herno

Herno began in 1948 when Giuseppe Marenzi and his wife Alessandra Diana started waterproofing cotton with castor oil salvaged from aircraft abandoned after the war. The name comes from the Erno, a river that empties into Lake Maggiore beside the original factory — Marenzi added the H as a nod to H₂O. Everything the house has built since has been measured against rain.
