Veronica Beard

Two women both named Veronica, married to brothers, started the label in 2010 — one came out of fashion, the other out of finance. The Dickey Jacket is the piece it was built on: a streamlined blazer with a detachable insert, borrowed from the 1840s habit of wearing a false shirtfront under a waistcoat to suggest a full shirt underneath. The first showroom was a corner of an apartment, run around the eight children they had between them.
