Giada and Paolo Forte started forte_forte in 2002 in a few rooms of their mother’s house — the garage was the warehouse, and the studio looked onto the garden they had played in as children. The first collection was hand-finished T-shirts and nothing else. They grew up around the family’s knitwear factories in the Veneto; Giada went on to study knitwear design at Nottingham Trent and designs the collections, Paolo studied economics and runs the business. The house is headquartered in Venice.
